Guitar Lessons in Kovan & Serangoon

Children can typically start guitar lessons from around 5+ years old onwards, depending on their individual readiness. A suitably sized guitar and an age-appropriate teaching approach can help young beginners learn comfortably.

Absolutely! It's never too late to learn guitar. Our personalised 1-to-1 adult guitar lessons cater to complete beginners, returning learners and those who want to develop their playing skills for leisure. Learn at your own pace while building confidence in chords, rhythm, strumming, fingerpicking and playing your favourite songs.

The best guitar for a beginner depends on their musical interests, learning goals and physical comfort. Acoustic guitar: great for learning chords, strumming and playing songs. Electric guitar: great for those interested in rock, pop, riffs and lead playing. Nylon-string guitar: great for those that prefer softer strings and is commonly used for classical guitar, fingerstyle and other styles. Beginners should choose an instrument that feels comfortable and suits the music they want to learn. If you're unsure which guitar to start with, contact our admin team and they will be happy to assist you.

No, you don't need to own a guitar for your trial lesson, as we'll provide one for you to use during the session. For regular lessons and steady progress, we recommend having your own guitar for home practice. As a one-stop music academy, KEA Music Academy offers expert guidance on choosing the right guitar size and model, along with exclusive student discounts on instrument purchases, so you can get started with confidence.

Consistent, focused practice is more beneficial than practising for long periods occasionally. Young beginners can start with around 5–10 minutes per session, gradually increasing as their concentration and skills develop. Older children, teenagers and adults may work towards 15–30 minutes per session, depending on their goals and schedule. Regular practice helps reinforce chords, improve finger coordination and build rhythm and playing fluency.

KEA Music Academy is located at 93 Kovan Road, Vibes@Kovan, #01-04, Singapore 548178, near Kovan MRT and Serangoon MRT. We plan to launch our upcoming guitar programmes in December 2026.
